Trekking and Beaching - Mount Cameroon

This tour is perfect if you have six days to travel in Cameroon, starting from Douala. In this tour package you will hike the famous Mount Cameroon: an active volcano with lush rainforests, savannahs and volcanic landscapes From Douala, you'll travel to Buea at the foot of the mountain for a multi-day ascent. The trek takes you through dense equatorial rainforest, open savannah, lava flows, and at the summit you'll enjoy panoramic views. You’ll be staying in basic mountain huts along the way, which adds to the authentic wilderness experience. After conquering the peak and descending, the tour continues with a visit to the Limbe Wildlife Centre (home to gorillas, chimpanzees, and more), and relaxation on the Atlantic beaches of Limbe. Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive in Douala

Today as you arrive in Douala, you will be greeted by your guide at the airport. From the airport, you will transfer to your hotel for the evening. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Douala - Buea - Mount Cameroon

After breakfast, this morning, you will drive through the city of Douala and continue to Buea. Here there will be a meeting with the officials of the Mount Cameroon Touristic site for entrance and climbing formalities. We will then start hiking for about 3-4 hours inside the rainforest and arrive at Hut 1 (1,830 m). This is one of the largest Huts and a spring provides fresh drinking water. Brief rest at Hut 1, then continue hiking for 3-4 hours through the Savannah to Hut 2 (2,780 m altitude). Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Mount Cameroon: Hut 2 to Hut 3.

This morning will be an early departure after breakfast to Hut 3(3,950 m). Here, we will have a short rest, and then we will continue to the summit (4,100 m). We shall stay at the summit for about 10 minutes for relaxation and pictures. After you will begin your descent on the other trail until we arrive at Mann's spring on a gentle walk. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Mann’s spring – Bokwango – Buea- Limbe

Take off will be early in the morning from Mann’s spring passing through the savannah, old lava flows and the rainforest before arriving at Bokwango Village. From Bokwango, we drive to the office to obtain our Certificates. After lunch, we will drive to Limbe and visit the wildlife center where you will have the chance to see gorillas, chimpanzees, and several other animals. Check-in at a local hotel and overnight.

Day 5: Limbe

Today will be an entire day of relaxation on the banks of the Atlantic Ocean. In the afternoon, you can visit the Cameroon lava flow solidification site in Bakingili, and the Limbe botanic garden. Return to hotel and overnight

Day 6: Limbe – Douala

This morning you will have some time to spend swimming and enjoying the beach before we make our way back to Doualan. Once we are in Douala we will have the opportunity to visit the flower and artifacts center where you can then purchase some souvenirs after which we’ll drop you off at your hotel of choice.
