This eight day travel programme covers Cameroon's stunning Ring Road, which is one of the country's most scenic drives and a perfect blend of nature, adventure as well as culture since it takes you through several traditional kingdoms. Cameroon’s ring road winds through green hills, grassy steppes, volcanic landscapes dotted with crater lakes, grazing cattle, and many chiefdoms, a unique phenomenon from Cameroon. 


Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Arrival in Yaoundé

Arrive in Yaoundé and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 2: Yaoundé → Bamenda

After breakfast, we’ll start our scenic drive to Bamenda, stopping along the way to visit several attractions and enjoy the changing landscapes. Dinner and overnight at local hotel.

Day 3: Bamenda → Bafut → Wum

Head out for an excursion to the historic Bafut Kingdom and visit the impressive Bafut Royal Palace, a UNESCO-recognized cultural site. Continue to Wum, stopping en route to admire the beautiful Mentchum Waterfalls. Overnight at local hotel. 

Day 4: Wum → Lake Nyos

Drive toward Lake Nyos, with opportunities to meet locals along the way and learn about the area's rich traditions, culture, and history. Explore Lake Nyos and nearby villages and get a better understanding of community life and resilience. Overnight at local hotel. 

Day 5: Lake Nyos → Misaje

Continue the journey to Misaje and arrive at the King's Palace in Misaje to hear stories of ancestral lineage, view traditional art and crafts, and experience the kingdom's heritage. Overnight at a local hotel. 

Day 6: Misaje → Lake Oku → Babungo

Drive through Noni to reach Lake Oku in the highlands. Explore Mount Kilum-Ijim (Cameroon's second-highest mountain), known for its exceptional biodiversity, wildlife, and pristine forests. Soak in the stunning Oku landscapes and visit the sacred Lake Oku. Proceed to Babungo to see the Palace Museum, meet the village King, and learn about local customs. Relax in the evening with dinner and overnight at Babungo Palace.

Day 7: Babungo → Bamenda → Yaoundé

Drive to Ndop and visit the renowned Bamessing pottery workshops to see skilled artisans at work. Enjoy impressive views of the Sabga Hills en route. Continue back to Yaoundé? 

Day 8: Yaoundé → Departure

Transfer to the airport.

End of tour.
