Culture Discovery: Bamileke and Bamoun and Mbapit Mountain Hike

This Cameroon tour focuses on the tribes of Cameroon and will enable you to explore the rich culture and traditions of the Bamileke and Bamoun tribes. You will also have the opportunity to hike on the mystical Mbapit Mountain (about 2.000 meters) and visit the sacred crater lac of mount Mbapit. Here you will discover the green slopes of the mountains, the Bororo shepherds, and the gorgeous lava flows.

Itinerary

Day 1: Yaoundé- Bafoussam- Bandjoun

This morning you will be picked up from your desired location in Yaoundé, Cameroon’s capital. Today we will drive from Yaoundé to Ebeda. Along the way, we will stop at the Sanaga Bridge and admire the local’s hard work extracting sand from the river. From here, we will continue on to Batoufam where we will visit the Chief Palace at the local chefferice Here, we will enjoy a visit with the King before we head off to Bandjoun. Overnight at a local hotel. 

Day 2: Bandjoun- Lac Mbapit- Foumban

This morning after breakfast, we will begin the drive to Foumbot for some trekking and a lovely visit to the "mystical" lake of Mbapit. Next, we will keep going to Foumban to explore and learn about the incredible culture of the Bamoun people. Dinner and overnight at local hotel.

Day 3: Bafoussam - Métché Waterfalls - Yaoundé

This morning after breakfast, we will begin our journey to Bafoussam. Here we will visit the city and take in the Metche Waterfalls, our final stop of the tour. From here we will make our way back to Yaounde where you will be dropped off at your accommodation in the city. End of tour.
