Embark on a journey through Cameroon's lush southern landscapes, starting at the renowned Mefou National Park primate sanctuary near Yaoundé. Encounter chimpanzees, gorillas, and monkeys in a semi-natural setting, explore nature trails, paddle along the serene Nyong River by canoe to discover ancient trees and mangroves in peaceful Ebogo Village. Continue to cultural stops like Nkolandom, visit waterfalls and beaches in Kribi, e, then venture to Lake Ossa for manatee spotting and chimpanzee island visits before continuing to vibrant Douala.

Cameroon 7 Day Travel Itinerary 

Day 1: Yaoundé – Mefou National Park – Ebogo

Drive to Mefou National Park for a visit to the primate sanctuary: observe chimpanzees, gorillas, and various monkey species in their semi-natural habitat while walking the forest trails. Continue to Mbalmayo for a city visit and key touristic attractions. Proceed to Ebogo Village for a relaxing canoe trip on the Nyong River, exploring mangroves and birdlife. Hike through the forest to discover one of the region's oldest and largest trees (a massive Kossipo or similar, over 1,000 years old with impressive diameter). Return to the village for overnight in a motel.

Day 2: Ebogo – Ebolowa – Nkolandom

Spend the morning enjoying Ebogo's peaceful nature along the Nyong River banks: relax, listen to birds, and soak in the tranquility. Continue to Ebolowa to explore the town and highlights. Continue to the Nkolandom and its cave . Overnight in local hotel.

Day 3: Nkolandom – Lolodorf – Bipindi – Kribi

After breakfast, drive back toward Ebolowa and onward to Kribi via Lolodorf. Stop around Bipindi to visit a pygmy camp and learn about their traditional lifestyle. Arrive in Kribi to visit the stunning Lobe Waterfalls, followed by free relaxation on the beach. Dinner and overnight at a local hotel. 

Day 4: Kribi – Edéa

Enjoy a relaxing morning on Kribi’s beautiful beach. Explore the city of Kribi. Drive to Edéa and visit the town center, the historic German Bridge, and the dam on the Sanaga River. Overnight at local hotel. 

Day 5: Edéa – Pongo Songo – Dizangue

After breakfast, drive to Marienberg, site of Cameroon's first Catholic church. Enjoy a boat trip on Lake Ossa to Pongo Songo Island to observe chimpanzees in their natural habitat (sanctuary setting). Return to the coast, then drive to Dizangue. Afternoon excursion on Lake Ossa with chances to spot elusive African manatees in this biodiverse hotspot. Overnight in a local hotel. 

Day 6: Dizangue – Douala 

Drive to Douala. Visit the bustling Youpwe Fish Market. Board a motorized canoe for a scenic trip on the Wouri River to explore Manoka Island. Evening transfer to your hotel. 


Day 7: Departure
